Weekend tips from week 37 Prinsjesdag
What great weather and almost weekend again. Still enjoying the Indian summer. Next week is Budget Day and this week's weekend tips are all about the third Tuesday of September.
The preparations are in full swing and you can be part of it! Read on to find out where to go for the best activities.
Prinsjesdag preparations on Saturday September 12
On the Lange Voorhout in The Hague today, the horses of the Royal Military Police are practicing. From 14.00-14.45 o'clock you can sit on the grandstand on the short Lange Voorhout section. Here you will be treated to a horse show. After this stay seated for from 15.00-16.00 o'clock you can then watch the Show Salute Battery. This is a show with horses and cannon shots by the Yellow Riders (Korps Rijdende Artillerie).
Want to make your horse day complete? Then book a ride in a so-called golden carriage. This carriage takes you along the route that the real golden coach will take on Tuesday. Along the way we will tell you everything about the ride and the sights.
Check out the Hague website to make reservations.
Preparation for Prinsjesdag on Sunday, September 13
Would you like to see the parade but don't want to stand in the crowd on Tuesday?? Or do you just fancy a nice day at The Hague with a glimpse of the parade? Visit The Hague on Sunday. The royal procession has its dress rehearsal.
All horses will ride along with some carriages. The parade starts at the Royal stables on the Hogewal at 10.00hour.
Budget Day beach practice Monday, September 14
Something I personally always find very cool to attend. The beach rehearsal of all the horses and riders riding along on Princes Day. On the beach of Scheveningen, in front of the Kurhaus, on Monday morning from 10.00 to 12.00h enjoy a lot of spectacle. All the horses of the Cavalry are being prepared for the noise that Prince's Day might give. Think lots of flags, noise, fireworks and music.
Make sure you are on time because it is often very busy.
On the website of Prinsjesdag Den Haag you can find all festivities around and on Prinsjesdag.
Will you be there this year?
