Weekend tips from week 44

What a lovely sunny week this was. We really enjoyed that. Hopefully it stays nice this weekend as well because there are fun things to do again. I share with you the weekend tips for week 44.

With this time a food truck festival especially for kids, horror and a trip to Sesame Street.

Kids food truck festival

You see food truck festivals everywhere these days. They pop up like mushrooms and are a raging success. The Lekkerbekjes foodtruck festival takes up this story with a foodtruck festival especially for children.

All food trucks take children into account in terms of portions, sustainability and offerings. This festival descends this weekend for two days on the George Maduroplein in front of Madurodam in The Hague. From Friday, October 30 to Sunday, November 1, you can find 10-15 food trucks here. Of course there is not only something to eat but there are also fun things to do.

You can do a scavenger hunt, participate in a lantern parade, do arts and crafts, dance and sing along with the troubadour and there are even a few attractions. Madurodam can be visited at a reduced rate so you can make a whole day out of it. What a cozy mess that will be. On Friday and Saturday you are welcome from 14.00 to 21.00 o’clock and on Sunday from 13.00 to 20.00hour.

Scares in Fortress 1881

Fort 1881 is a nineteenth century fort in Hoek van Holland. The perfect location for a real ghost tour. Saturday, October 31 is Halloween and then you can from 18.30 to 21.30h you can participate in a tour of the fortress with a real ghost hunter.

In groups you will discover where all those strange sounds come from. The story goes that there are ghosts of the people who never left the fort in October 1890. After this creepy walk you can get a glass of creepy lemonade and have your picture taken with a creepy guy from the fortress. For children/parents who find it too exciting there is also a slightly less scary tour.

I wonder who dares to do this. You can find more information on the Fort 1881 site.

Sesame Street in Kijkduin

I have been there a few times already, Sesame Street in Kijkduin. Last Thursday we went to play as well. A fun outing for the little ones where you can have fun with tommie, ienimini and pino from Tuesday to Sunday. The famous characters from Sesame Street let you play between recognizable pieces of scenery. Peek over the fence as neighbor boss, check out Mr. Aart’s clock collection, pick out a dress for Ienimini or give Purk a bath.

Sesame Street in Kijkduin is an interactive and playful exhibition where children can play and even color to their heart’s content. Do you dare to dance with Elmo? For all information take a look at the website of Sesame Street in Kijkduin.

What are your plans for the weekend? Are you going to be spooky for Halloween?
