Weekend tips from week 33
The week is almost over. Friday it is. Like every Friday, I am sharing the best weekend tips for the Westland region. You really do not know yet what you want to do this weekend?
Then read on quickly for three tips.
Bradelier
We are almost at the end of the summer vacations, which means that this week it is time for the Bradelier in De Lier. Saturday, August 15 is already the last day. There is a lot of fun stuff on the program.
There is ’s morning flea market and various tours. ’The afternoon I personally like best since you can then enjoy the Kortebaandraverij in the Hoofdstraat. This spectacular race with trotting horses starts at 13.30u. I hope to be able to take a look myself since the little guy thinks this is pretty cool too.
The evening ends with a final party in the tent opposite the Center. The complete program can be found on the website of the Bradelier.
Rabo driving competitions Maasdijk
This year for the first time the Rabo driving competitions are divided over three days, from Friday to Sunday. The most spectacular day is the Saturday. On this day, on the competition ground at the Spuidijkje in Maasdijk, the spectacular marathon will take place. The horse-drawn combinations have to overcome seven obstacles.
Personally I find it, especially for children, the most fun to watch the water trough. Great to see how even the smallest ponies’re working through the water. The entire weekend is free to visit and on the grounds there is plenty of goodies to find and fun to experience.
For the program and more info I refer you to the website of the organization.
Kettles on the quay
In Rotterdam Delfshaven you can enjoy a special food festival on Sunday August 16. Ketels on the quay will have its second edition this year. At this festival you can taste Rotterdam’s past. In a historic setting, you can browse market stalls and old crafts, feast at cooking demonstrations and enjoy street theater and troubadours.
You really do imagine yourself in another time for a moment. This unique festival can be visited from 11.00h until 20.00u. More info can be found on the site of Ketels aan de kade.
So there is again plenty to do this coming weekend. I wonder what you are going to do.
