Weekend tips from week 42

Jeez, week 42 already. Only 10 more weeks and the year is already over. Autumn has really started and the days are getting shorter again. Ok, enough depressing news, time for the weekend tips of week 42.

With this weekend another activity related to children’s book week and animal day.

Weekend tips of week 42

Animal Day at the petting zoo

In Hoek van Holland, at the Willem van Houtenstraat, you will find a children’s farm. Animal Day may have been a while ago but Saturday you can still celebrate Animal Day at the petting zoo. From 8.00h everyone is welcome to come and do odd jobs to make the petting zoo even more beautiful together. Between 13.00 and 17.00 o’clock there will be a special children’s afternoon. There will be a candy stall, you can ride a pony, do arts and crafts, grab a lolly and there is music.

This promises to be a fun afternoon.

Sea fishing with draft horse

Saturday you can sign up for a very special activity. Indeed, in Hoek van Holland you can participate in the workshop ‘Sea fishing with horse’. From restaurant de Zeetoren you will leave with a guide through the dunes to the beach. On the beach a real draft horse with dragnet is waiting for you.

You will catch your own fish, which will be prepared by the cooks into a delicious meal. Super special anyway? If you want more information and reservations, check out the organizer’s website.

Children’s book market The Hague

To close the Children’s Book Week you can visit the Children’s Book Market in The Hague on Sunday. This you will find in ZUID57 at the Zuidlarenstraat 57. If you think this is a regular market with children’s books then you’re wrong.

The children’s book market is organized for the 39th time and has a lot to offer. There are numerous authors present, workshops are given, you can watch and listen to performances and you can watch movies. Make for example a monster mask, a tooth storage box, a viewing box or your own dream painting.

There is something for all ages. If you want to see the full program, go to the website of the children’s book market.
